As a director of government relations for Cargill, Mike Zumwinkle is responsible for state government relations impacting the company’s food and agriculture business. He has been with Cargill’s Corporate Affairs division for more than 10 years.
Previously Zumwinkle worked for Saint John’s University in institutional advancement and the U.S. Department of State. He also held a year-long U.S. Department of State Fascell Fellowship in East Germany.
Zumwinkle views the Minnesota Agri-Growth Council as an effective tool to engage in public affairs issues in Saint Paul and to interact with leading companies, associations and individuals on issues that affect food and agriculture in Minnesota.
A native of St. Cloud, Minn., Zumwinkle received a bachelor’s degree in government from Saint John’s University, attended the University of Leipzig and earned a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Minnesota. Now a resident of Excelsior, Zumwinkle is an active member of the Holy Family Catholic High School Board and Saint John’s University Alumni Board. He also coaches in the Chan-Chaska Soccer Association.
