Tom Rosen

Tom Rosen is the president and chief executive officer of Rosen’s Diversified, based in Fairmont, Minnesota.

Rosen’s Diversified operates principally in food and agricultural industries. Food processing operations consist of the largest non-feed beef processor in the nation and a variety of further processing operations which include meat cooking, steak cutting, ground beef and liver slicing. In September 2005, Rosen Meat Group and American Foods Group merged making Rosen’s Diversified, Inc. the sixth largest packer with the capacity to slaughter 6,500 head daily. In addition, the company is a wholesale distributor of agricultural products including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, adjuvants and fertilizer. This privately held company had been in business for 59 years and employees over 4,000 people with worldwide sales in excess of $2 billion.

Rosen began as a sales representative with Marion Laboratories in Kansas City. In 1973, he joined Rosen's, Inc. Agricultural Chemical Division as a sales representative and helped expand the company's territories into South Dakota, Nebraska and Northwest Iowa. He was named operations manager for the company's agribusiness division in 1982, and in 1986 was promoted to president. In 1991, Tom was appointed chief executive officer.

Rosen serves on the executive committees for the Minnesota Business Partnership, Minnesota Agri-Growth Council and Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. He also is on the leadership circle for the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation and a member of the Fairmont Rotary. Rosen was inducted into the Minnesota Business Hall of Fame July 2006.

A native of Fairmont, Rosen earned a business administration degree from Morningside College. He was a member of the Chief's basketball team for four seasons and was later inducted in the Morningside College Athletic Hall of Fame.
