What about your organization or company’s work are you most proud of?

CentraCare is deeply proud of our century-long commitment to the health and well-being of the people in Central Minnesota. Our first hospital in St. Cloud, founded  by Benedictine Sisters in the spirit of service to the community, is joined today by seven hospitals throughout the region – all sharing that same love for local friends and family.

It’s now possible to receive virtually all medical services locally, ranging from primary care to high-level specialty care – including heart, orthopedic and cancer care. We’re proud to offer all of these services and more – right here in the place we call home.

Please highlight key trends affecting your industry.

Healthcare is experiencing enormous changes. Consumers desire better quality care that is convenient for them to access, which often means care provided as close to home as possible. Healthcare is also seeing the average age of rural  Minnesotans increasing, and since older citizens generally require more healthcare, CentraCare services are needed more than ever. This increased demand is happening precisely at a time when there is a shortage of healthcare workers to meet the growing need. Fortunately, remarkable changes in digital and virtual care, and new care delivery models, are helping CentraCare address these trends and better serve patients.

Talk about the key opportunities & challenges facing your business over the  next 5 years.

CentraCare believes that challenges inevitably lead to opportunities. This belief gives us confidence that we will successfully respond to today’s challenges and those of the future – such as addressing a shortage of healthcare workers,  providing easy access to care locally, and bringing the most advanced care technologies to all residents in Central Minnesota.

As we continue to be innovative in how we partner with residents to build a healthy Minnesota, we will continue to ask the two core questions that have always shaped what we do – First, what does our community need? Then, how can we best serve them?
